Weekly Homework Assignments

Due Week 9:

Angel Choir Assignment: Color in the space names on the homework assignment sheet. Listen to CD 3 TIMES, once per day. There should be at least 3 (day one / “1”; day two “2”, on appropriate date) listening days marked on your practice card to complete the assignment.

PHOTOS NEXT WEEK: Every year we invite our choral photographer to come and take individual photos for our students. Victoria Presley has taken our choir and individual photos for 4 years now, and we’re excited to come have her visit us again during class next week. You are under no obligation to purchase any photos, but shots will be taken of each child, and proofs distributed. Full Choir photos will be taken at the combined rehearsal in May.

Children’s Choir Assignment: We’re ½ way through the semester. Time for memorization! Memorize “Dona Nobis Pacem” for next week. See if you can now sing with the alternate part on your CD. Practice 4 TIMES, once per day on your part only. Be sure to follow along with the music as you practice. Children’s Choir Assignment: Learn “Weep No More” for next week. Listen to this song 4 TIMES, once per day on your part only. Be sure to follow along with the music as you practice. There should be at least 4 (day one / “1”; day two “2”, on appropriate date) days marked on your practice card to complete

Men’s Choir Assignment: Review YOUR PART of “Set Me as a Seal” & “The Lord is Mindful” for next week. These parts should be well learned for rehearsal next week. Work at least 4 times before next week. CDs WILL BE READY NEXT WEEK!

Treble Choir Assignment: Learn “Sanctus” for next week be sure to apply latin to correct moving notes. Review “How Merrily We Sing,” “Adieu Donzellet” & “Storm is Passing” Work on this piece 4 times – due week 3 AND 4 times due week 4. You should have it down next time we meet. Recording will be available Kathryn Hargis.

Master’s Singers Assignment: Learn “Bim Bom” for NEXT WEEK! Memorize “Fair Phyllis” and review “Weep” on CD.

Due Week 5:

Angel Choir Assignment: Listening: Mother, a Gift from God will be on line for the children to listen to: www.ccsa.info under the homework section. This should be the LAST WEEK of on line listening. Next week we’ll finally have CDs! Please have them listen 3 times to the song (once a day/3 days). Follow the prior listening protocol for the practice cards (found on week 3 assignment). There should be at least 3 days marked on your practice card to complete the assignment. If you have trouble accessing the example, let me know via e-mail and I’ll send you the MP3 file.

On their practice cards: Mark a “1” on the first day that they listen, a “2” on the second day they listen, and a “3” on the third day. They may NOT listen 3 times in one day and receive credit for listening. They must listen on 3 different days. This will reinforce the concept of regular practice. You are more than welcome to record the example and make your own CD for easier listening (if you know how to do that!) Also, complete the Quarter note / Quarter rest coloring Sheet. There should be at least 3 days marked on your practice card to complete the assignment. If you have trouble accessing the example, let me know via e-mail and I’ll send you the MP3 file.
